Job description

On short term we are looking for a:

Design Engineer II (with affinity towards Electro).

As Onboard Entertainment Engineer (OBE-E) you fall within the job profile Design Engineer II in the Mechanical Vehicle Engineering Unit. Within this position you are responsible for the integration of onboard entertainment systems within our vehicles and/or other attractions. The focus is emphatically on audio and lighting systems, however, additional issues such as interactive systems / elements and audiovisual effects are also possible. Depending on the project requirements (scope) and division of labor between fellow engineers, this involves a combination of various mechanical and electrical engineering activities.

Job requirements

What you will be doing:

  • Determining the system configuration on the vehicle/attraction;

  • Making an energy calculation (required battery pack);

  • The mechanical integration of electrical cabinets on the vehicle/attraction;

  • Determining cable runs and thinking along in the mechanical integration;

  • Integrating speakers and lighting elements, among other things;

  • Coordinating the interface (including trigger points, power supply and communications) with the other engineering disciplines;

  • Configuring the system according to customer needs;

  • Preparing single and multiline diagrams;

  • Preparing the Electrical scope for suppliers;

  • Preparing quality and acceptance documents ;

  • Supporting estimate department for the pricing of the respective system;

  • Supporting Test & Commissioning Engineers in commissioning the attraction;

  • Ongoing development and standardization of OBE systems.

What do we expect from you:

  • You have a completed HBO Bachelor or MBO education with additional work experience (Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or other related education);

  • You are an audio and lighting enthusiast by nature and have a strong affinity for related technology;

  • You are a team player who takes responsibility for his engineering discipline within a total project in a multidisciplinary project team;

  • You have affinity with EPLAN and Wire Harness or similar software packages;

  • You have affinity with 2 and 3D CAD software and underlying data management systems (PLM), Solid Edge or Solid Works experience is an advantage;

  • You have the ability to independently master new technical areas;

  • You have verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and English;

  • You look for a good balance between technical requirements, weight, manufacturability and production costs of your design.
