Structural Design Engineer

What you’re going to do?

As Structural Design Engineer, your main role within the Track Engineering department is designing and drawing steel structures for roller coasters and other attractions. This concerns the steel components of the attraction and the support structure of the main construction through to the most detailed structural components. Your goal is to find the right balance between the technical requirements, weight and production costs of your design. As Structural Design Engineer in the Track Engineering department, you are given the opportunity to further your career in various directions, such as Constructor or Lead Engineer, or to expand your knowledge within the department in the areas of materials or automating work processes.

Main duties:

• Designing, modelling and creating workshop documentation and drawings for the steel constructions

• You are responsible for the development of a steel construction system

• You coordinate or cooperate in internal or external work processes aimed at reviewing a structure's manufacturability and optimisation

• You are tasked with design validation, using tools such as FMEA and Hazard Analysis

• You evaluate and integrate various standards that apply to designs or design verifications

• You are part of a multidisciplinary project team already from the concept design stage, in which interface monitoring with fellow Engineering departments is as necessary as it is crucial.

What do we expect from you?

• You have an Associate's or Bachelor's degree (Engineering, Built Environment or other related education)

• Relevant work experience is an advantage

• You are skilled in applying modern steel construction methods, production techniques and other related materials

• You have the analytical ability to understand problems and to tackle them using a structured approach

• You have the capabilities to independently master new technical disciplines

• You are competent in Dutch and English in both the spoken and written forms

• You have specific experience with software packages AutoCAD and Tekla Structures.
